A Design Charity for people most in need
Design
Design is a mediation between the world and ourselves, human institutions and individuals, and between the material and the spiritual.
Our work intersects at the boundary between Heterotopic space and the liminal nature of its occupants. Heterotopic spaces are ‘Other Spaces’ that exist outside of the normative order of society, such as orphanages, prisons, psychiatric facilities, and palliative care units.
In the exploration of transitional areas or moments, an ambiguity, potential, and transformation is brought to light.
Our Charity aims for a re-enchantment of design by endowing space with stimuli that nurture us at a meaningful level, inviting us to respond and act through the human psyche and sensory antennae of the human body. It produces in the process, a direct kind of visceral contact with the environment.
Creating Emotive and Dynamic Experiences in Transformative Environments
The Philosophical Bottom Line
The external space and the internal space, the physical and the mental, real and imaginary, constitute an indivisible continuum, a singularity.
The “where-in” is a matrix of instrumental involvements structured by pragmatic relations such as the “in-which” and the transcendental “in-order-to” through which “Being” permits ready-to-hand entities become involved in a context of significance.
